If you turn the headlights off before the ignition, they willturn off in the normal manner.NOTE:•The lights must be turned off within 45 seconds ofplacing the ignition in the OFF position to activate thisfeature.•The headlight delay time is programmable using theUconnectfi System, refer to Uconnectfi Settings inUnderstanding Your Instrument Panel for furtherinformation.SmartBeam If EquippedThe SmartBeam system provides increased forward light-ing at night by automating high beam control throughthe use of a digital camera mounted on the insiderearview mirror. This camera detects vehicle specific lightand automatically switches from high beams to lowbeams until the approaching vehicle is out of view.NOTE:•SmartBeam can be turned on or off using theUconnectfi System, refer to Uconnectfi Settings inUnderstanding Your Instrument Panel for furtherinformation.•Broken, muddy, or obstructed headlights and taillightsof vehicles in the field of view will cause headlights toremain on longer (closer to the vehicle).Also, dirt, film,and other obstructions on the windshield or cameralens will cause the system to function improperly.If the windshield or SmartBeam mirror is replaced, theSmartBeam mirror must be re-aimed to ensure properperformance.
