•You switch off ESC.If the Cruise Control system is turned off and reactivated, the system will return to the last driver setting (ACC orNormal Cruise Control).Forward Collision Warning If EquippedThe Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system providesthe driver with audible and visual warnings (within theEVIC) when it detects a potential frontal collision. Thewarnings are intended to provide the driver with enoughtime to react and avoid the potential collision.FCW monitors the information from the forward lookingsensor as well as the Electronic Brake Controller (EBC),wheel speed sensors, i.e., to calculate a probable rear-endcollision. When the system determines that a rear-endcollision is probable a warning message (both audibleand visual) will be displayed on the EVIC. When thesystem determines a collision with the vehicle in front ofyou is no longer probable, the warning message will bedeactivated.NOTE:The minimum speed for FCW activation is10 mph (16 km/h).WARNING!Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is not intended toavoid a collision on its own, nor can FCW detectevery type of potential collision. The driver has theresponsibility to avoid a collision by controlling thevehicle via braking and steering. Failure to followthis warning could lead to serious injury or death.3UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURES OF YOUR VEHICLE 245
