WARNING!(Continued)•In a collision, you and your passengers can suffermuch greater injuries if you are not properly buck-led up. You can strike the interior of your vehicle orother passengers, or you can be thrown out of thevehicle. Always be sure you and others in yourvehicle are buckled up properly.•Being too close to the Supplemental Side Air BagInflatable Curtain (SABIC) and/or Seat-MountedSide Air Bag (SAB) during deployment could causeyou to be severely injured or killed.Buckle up even though you are an excellent driver, evenon short trips. Someone on the road may be a poor driverand cause a collision that includes you. This can happenfar away from home or on your own street.Research has shown that seat belts save lives, and theycan reduce the seriousness of injuries in a collision. Someof the worst injuries happen when people are thrownfrom the vehicle. Seat belts reduce the possibility ofejection and the risk of injury caused by striking theinside of the vehicle. Everyone in a motor vehicle shouldbe belted at all times.Lap/Shoulder BeltsAll seating positions in your vehicle are equipped withlap/shoulder belts.The belt webbing retractor is designed to lock duringvery sudden stops or impacts. This feature allows theshoulder part of the belt to move freely with you undernormal conditions.
