Replacing componentsVehicle equipmentThis chapter describes all series equipment aswell as country-specific and special equipmentoffered for this model series.Therefore, it alsodescribes equipment that may not be found inyour vehicle, for instance due to the selectedspecial equipment or the country version. Thisalso applies to safety-related functions and sys‐tems.Tool kitThe onboard vehicle tool kit is stored in a pouchunder the trunk floor panel.Replacing the wiper blades1.Fold up the wiper arm.2. Fold the wiper blade upwards.3.Press the hook.4. Pull the wiper blade downward out of theholder and remove it toward the top left, seearrow.Do not fold out the wiper armsTo avoid damage, make sure that thewiper arms are resting against the windshieldbefore you open the engine compartment.◀Lamp and bulb replacementGeneral informationLamps and bulbs make an essential contributionto vehicle safety.The manufacturer of your vehicle recommendsthat you entrust corresponding procedures toyour service center if you are unfamiliar withthem or they are not described here.You can obtain a selection of replacement bulbsat your service center.Danger of burnsOnly change bulbs when they are cool;otherwise, there is the danger of gettingburned.◀Working on the lighting systemWhen working on the lighting system, youshould always switch off the lights affected toprevent short circuits.To avoid possible injury or equipment damagewhen replacing bulbs, observe any instructionsprovided by the bulb manufacturer.◀Do not touch the bulbsDo not touch the glass of new bulbs withyour bare hands, as even minute amounts ofcontamination will burn into the bulb's surfaceand reduce its service life.Seite 170Mobility Replacing components170Online Edition for Part no. 01 40 2 609 184 - 09 11 500
