- 23 -First Steps: Setting the Time and DateSetting the Time and DateThe camera's clock-calendar is not set at the factory. Whenyou first turn on your camera, you will need to set the time anddate. To do so, turn the selector dial to M-REC.Wait one or two seconds for the camera to complete start-up.The color LCD monitor should show the camera's currentsettings superimposed on the view through the lens. If the datehas yet to be set, the date "00.00.00/00:00" will be shownflashing at the top right corner of the display.Note: If there is no card currently in thecamera, in place of the camera settings themonitor will show a message indicating thatno card is present. If the monitor is blank,press the MONITOR button until the viewthrough the camera's lens is visible. Shouldthe monitor remain blank, check whether thecontrol panel on top of the camera is on.
