- 69 -Connections: Connecting the Camera to a ComputerConnecting the Camera to a ComputerSerial cables are provided with your COOLPIX 900 for connec-tion to Macintosh and IBM-compatible computers. If NikonView 900 is installed on your computer, a serial connection canbe used to browse the photographs stored in the camera. Toconnect the camera to a computer, remove the rubber cap thatcovers the camera's serial connector. Then, after making surethat both camera and computer are off, connect the serial cableas shown below. The cable can be connected when both thecamera and computer are on or when they are off.Attach the other end of the cable to the computer's serial port(IBM compatibles) or printer or modem port (Macintosh).DIGTAL MRECOFFPLAYDIGITALQUALITYNote: When connecting the COOLPIX 900 to a computer, useonly the cables provided with the camera. The COOLPIX 900comes with a 9-pin RS-232C serial cable for connection to a male9-pin serial connector, standard on many IBM-compatible comput-ers, and a mini DIN 8-pin RS-232/RS-422 serial cable for connec-tion to Macintosh computers.
