- 58 -Playback: The Playback MenuThe Playback MenuIn addition to the functions described above, playback modeoffers a menu that allows the user to create slideshows, todelete several photographs simultaneously, to protect photo-graphs from deletion, and to hide photographs so that they willnot be displayed in slideshows or ordinary playback mode. Thetime and date, brightness of the color LCD monitor, languageused in the menus, and the length of time the monitor willremain on before turning off automatically can also be set usingthe playback menu.To access the playback menu, turn the selector dial to PLAY.Press the MENU button to display the playback menu.BK PLAY BACTHUMBNADELETESLILANGUAGEDESHOWILEKSETSHUTTERPROTECTHIDE IMAGEL003sCD BR IGHTAUTO OFFSETSHUTTERBKDATECARDFORMATThe playback menu has two pages. Use the zoom-out (W/ t)and zoom-in (T/s) switches to highlight the desired menu item.Pressing the zoom-out switch when the last item on a page ishighlighted (or pressing the zoom-in switch when the first itemis highlighted) displays the next page of items. To edit a high-lighted item, press the shutter button. To exit the playbackmenu, press the MENU button or highlight BK and press theshutter button.The playback menu contains the following items.THUMBNAILSelecting this option causes the thumbnail list to bedisplayed as described in the preceding section.DELETEUsing this option, the user can choose to delete all photo-graphs currently in memory or select multiple photo-graphs for deletion. See the following section, " DeletingMultiple Photographs from Memory ."SLIDESHOWWhen this option is selected, all the photographs cur-rently selected for display will be shown one after theother, with a pause between each photograph. See"Slideshow," below, for details.PROTECTSelected photographs can be protected from accidentaldeletion using this option. See " Protecting Photographsfrom Deletion," below.
